Hi, I'm Grace!

Welcome to my online platform for photos, field notes, and musings on the role of women in fisheries and aquaculture around the world.

A bit about this fellowship (what the heck am I doing??)

The Thomas J. Watson traveling fellowship is a 12-month grant awarded to undergraduate seniors from 41 partner colleges across the US. The program is unique in its openness: projects can be any subject, and fellows are given the freedom to decide how to pursue it, where to go, and when to change course. At the end of the year, I will attend a conference with other returning Watson fellows to share our experiences and learning with the cohort.

A bit about me!

I studied biology at Wellesley College, and conducted research in ecology and marine science. Understanding how marine and coastal ecosystems function and respond to change is both fascinating and crucial to our collective survival and well-being. For my Watson year, I will leave the lab and explore the diverse and complex world of social-ecological systems, stories, and reciprocal relationships between women and the sea.
